More capacity
With a conventional bike carrier you are limited to how many bikes you can load between the chair bail. With this model the chair bail is removed so there is less interference with handle bars and in in most instances you can now match bike capacity to chair capacity. Deasonbuilt carriers offer more capacity that the “back rack” style because our bike carriers are loaded horizontally rather than vertically, creating better clearance at the loading/unloading platforms.

Easiest, quickest loading bike carrier available
Replacing a chair bail with a single pole bike carrier eliminates the need to squeeze handlebars between the chair bail.  With a single pole bike carrier more room is created for loading and unloading bikes.  The handlebars are not restricted to the space between the chair bail.  The single pole hanger is designed to be in front of the bikes which produces an unobstructed area for handlebar clearance.

Fits more lift models
Do you have a chair lift with a welded seat back you are not able to remove to install a conventional roll on bike carrier? This will fit it!!!

Simple installation
Many chairs are too complex to easily remove the seat bottom, seat back, bubbles and restraint bar. With this model you simply remove the entire chair bail at the “taco” and replace it with the center pole bike carrier.

FORWARD HANGING VS CHAIR BAIL

When using the existing chair bail to hang a horizontal bike carrier, you run into two problems.  The chair bail creates an obstruction with the handlebars while loading.  The outside bikes need to be tilted inward to squeeze through the chair bails.  The second issue is load capacity.  You are limited to how many bikes you can fit in between the chair bails.  In order to install this type of carrier, you have to remove the seat bottom and back and remove the restraint bar.

The forward hanging carrier eliminates the chair bail entirely.  This allows for total unobstructed clearance for bike handlebars when loading.  It also allows the individual bike carriers to be spaced farther apart, creating smoother loading/unloading.  With the forward hanging carrier, it is possible to transport more bikes.  For example, a detachable quad lift with a chair bail type carrier is limited to three bikes per carrier.  With a forward hanging carrier, you can transport four bikes.  To install this type of carrier, you remove the chair bail assembly which is typically one or two bolts.  The chair bail is then replaced with the bike carrier hanger. The lower bike carrier assembly is then attached to the hanger with three bolts.

Adaptive Bike Carriers

In fall of 2024 Deasonbuilt started testing for an adaptive bike attachment to be used on existing Deasonbuilt bike carriers.  We worked alongside Park City Resort and the NAC (National Ability Center) to design an attachment that can easily attach to a three-bike carrier.
